Off-the-beaten-track restaurants are definitely the best kept secrets and worth a bit of travelling around the London Transport System. Salut! is one of those gems – a mix of scandi decor, french-european cuisines, open-plan kitchen and and very fresh and well-sourced ingredients. I love that the menu constantly changes and the decor of the plates is outstanding – a lot of love goes into each dish and the eye definitely eat alongside the taste buds. We tried the mackerel and pressed octopus starter, followed by duck breast and ox-cheeks on mashed potatoes. I absolutely adored the ox-cheeks, juicy and cooked to perfection paired with an excellent Rioja.
As per Oscar Wilde, “After a good dinner one can forgive anybody, even one’s own relations.”
